Abstract
It was the summer the world collapsed, and I had almost begun collapsing with it. I would have, had it not been for the sunshine and the birds and the lulling of the river’s tide.I would carry a picnic basket to the water’s edge, and I sat, all summer, with my novelsand my notebooks, and I wrote down all that I felt.
How is one supposed to act in isolation? What does one do?
