Comments from Mentors

Carsyn’s thorough scoping review of the literature resulted in a meaningful overview of how fetal microbiota transplantation builds upon our expanding knowledge of the microbiome to restore quality of life to individuals suffering from chronic gastrointestinal disorders. Carsyn demonstrated the ability to critique and synthesize a large body of knowledge to identify what is known and not known regarding this emerging treatment modality. Her work resulted in a publication in the prestigious American Journal of Nursing. The evidence she gleaned is now being used by nurses to expand their knowledge of how to support individuals undergoing this lifechanging.
